What is a Dolly trailer?
These trailers consist of a two-axle table, and have a hitch to connect to the front vehicle and a shoe that can accept flatbed trailers. All this, in a trailer of only five meters.
Where is it manufactured?
The current generation is built at the Altenberge plant in Germany, and to date 500 units have been built and delivered to customers.
How does it work;
Like the manufacturer's flatbeds, the dollies are based on the same modular system, and are aimed at customers who use 25,25 meter or even 31,5 meter road wires.
What is it useful for;
The most popular use, however, concerns the so-called EcoDuo strings, where two semi-trailers are connected to the dolly and the tractor.
Move to no dolly country
The versatility of this combination is obvious. Conventional trailers are used, which owners can also use in other applications, or be uncoupled and placed on two tractors in case of cross-border transport and entry into a country where trains of similar length are not allowed.
