Transport company Waberer took another step towards electrification after taking delivery of the first 100% electric DAF truck. In particular, a DAF CF that will currently be the flagship of the ecological "fleet" of trucks.
The ecological fleet
The small 'flotilla' also has an electric Volvo FL for inland vehicles with a range of 240 km on a full load. Also a Renault electric tractor and two Volvo tractors with an LNG (liquefied natural gas) engine.

The new DAF CF truck with a gross towing weight of 37 tonnes can transport up to 500 kilometers per day with one or two quick top-ups - after being fully charged overnight. A quick charge is achieved in 75 minutes per hour on a charger with a current supply of 250 kW/400 A.

The capacity of the battery pack is 315 kWh and the electric motor provides continuous power of 210 kW (285 HP) and momentary 240 kW (327 HP). During braking, the electric motor acts as a current generator and stores this energy in the batteries.
Fleet replacement program
It should be noted, finally, that Waberer has started a replacement program for 400 international transport trucks and 1.300 domestic transport trucks. What the new trucks will be fueled depends on the performance of the vehicles and the comparative cost studies carried out by the fleet manager.
