Since the beginning of the year, rents for the lease of a new, modern logistics building have increased by 15%. "Now we expect rents of the order of 5 euros per square meter in Aspropyrgos", said Mr. Christos Kakkavas, an expert in the sector.
Giorgos Filopoulos, of Trastor AEEAP, emphasized that the logistics sector has great prospects in Greece for the coming years, characterizing the 3PL sector as one of the best in the Greek economy. He identified a strong demand for logistics facilities in Western Attica, saying that the rise in prices is due to the difficulty of finding suitable property.
Western Attica as a transportation hub
West Athens, Mr. Filopoulos said, is a high value-added location for 3PL companies, due to its proximity to the port of Piraeus, but also access to the urban fabric, in order to serve delivery and catering. Accordingly, Votanikos is deemed suitable for the development of the last mile logistics market, i.e. facilities that will be located within the urban fabric.
