Schmitz Cargobull Iberica recently held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory in the town of Figuerela in Spain.
The first investment
The initial investment amounts to approx 19 million euros. The start of operation is estimated to take place in August 2022 and in the first stage more than 280 workers will manufacture around 60 trailers per day.
The factory and the present
The new factory is to be built three kilometers from the existing Schmitz plant and will be developed on an area of 104.000 m16.400: 2.000 of which will be production lines and logistics, XNUMX offices in a three-story building, plus sheds to accommodate new and used vehicles.
The history
This is an investment indicative of Schmitz's successful course in the Iberian Peninsula.
When the company started local production in 2002, calculations indicated that five trailers per day would be a good tally.
Today, over 4.000 units are sold per year.
