In the new battery factory, Samsung SDI cells and modules will be assembled into battery packs. In particular, they will be specially manufactured for the electric range of Volvo Trucks: Volvo FH, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX. The customer chooses
Each battery is 90 kWh and the customer can choose up to six battery packs (540 kWh) in one truck. In particular, the number on the batteries is based on the specific range and load capacity requirements of each customer.

Target electric trucks
With production of three fully electric heavy-duty models starting this year in Europe, Volvo Trucks will offer a total of six electric truck models worldwide. It clearly covers everything from city distribution and waste management to regional transport and construction work.

A relatively modest impact
The overall impact of today's battery production on the environment may be relatively modest. Even with electric vehicles, there is currently an environmental payback of less than a year on commercial vehicles.
